Through the years various branches of the parent company developed, including Overland Investment, Cal Citrus Service Co., Luallen Groves, Ranch Equipment Co., D. & J. Farming and Ten 76 Co. In 1976 the "West" house and main corporate office in Lindsay were purchased, formerly known as Waddell Packing, boasting the "Seabiscuit", "Golden Boy" and "Running Mate" labels.
Our grower base to this day includes some of the original Waddell family fruit. Very soon, the now famous "Portokali" and "My Goodness" labels were carefully marketed and quickly established a reputation for quality. In 1981 the "North" packing house on Valencia Street was established and is now where the company's current citrus bagging operation takes place.
Cal Citrus Packing Company is a proud parent, who in affiliation with other leaders in the industry has been directly responsible for the establishment of many citrus related organizations and companies, such as Sworlco, Valley Foods, Harvest Investment and Harvest Container as well as Central California Orange Growers, all making great contributions to local economy.
Cal Citrus Packing Company has a grower base of approximately 1,800 acres and packs and ships an average of 1 million cartons of fresh citrus yearly. The company maintains an employee base of 100- 125 local people, many of whom have been with the company since the beginning, and share their vast experience with the sharp new team members hired to meet the demands of today's business technology.
Cal Citrus is proud of its Central California "Lindsay Citrus Belt" heritage and is committed to maintaining our reputation of quality and integrity
